Cobblestone Callouts: Map Overview

Table of Contents

For almost 10 years, CS:GO fans have participated in the epic confrontation between special forces and Terrorists. During this time, a variety of maps with custom modes and tasks were released. Some of them gained real popularity. They were and still are in demand in the majors.

Cobblestone CS:GO map became one of the most famous maps of its time. It was unique not only for its visuals but also for the skins that came with it. AWP | Dragon Lore turned out to be especially valuable, and became the real target of the hunt.

Callouts in Brief

Team play is always successful if there is clear communication and interaction between players. Clear communication of positions can be a decisive factor. To ensure that all players understand what they are talking about, there are callouts defining the location.

Some close-knit teams that play in a permanent lineup even come up with some coding to convey information not only about the location but also the events that take place there.

Every map, including Cobblestone CS:GO, has callouts. To get the most out of them, it’s a good idea to learn them by heart or use Radar, which is not banned by Valve. Experienced gamers know Mirage callouts and other maps by heart to report important events at a particular location.

Cobblestone: Map Overview

cobblestone map

Not only the map is unique, but also its history and storyline. The map was created by a real pro, not an ordinary amateur. It was David Johnston, a Brit, who presented Dust earlier. The first attempt was unsuccessful, but after refinement it appeared in Counter-Strike BETA 6.5. The final version came out in the Global Offensive version and later became an integral part of most majors. According to statistics, every second game was played on it.

The storyline unfolds in France, in the castle of Lord William. It covers a huge area. It is more extensive than most other maps. After the updates, there were more medieval buildings, and the castle itself stands out from the other buildings.

There is a confrontation between the Phoenix Terrorist team led by Chase Turner and the GIGN special forces of the French Gendarmerie. The task of the Terrorists is to blow up the castle, and the task of the special forces is to prevent this mission.

At some point, Valve removed Cobblestone for revision and players waited for improvements, as the developer usually does. In this case, however, the company released an unsuccessful version that was not welcomed by the community. Previously Cobblestone T or CT had an equal advantage, but now they removed almost all shelters from point A, which made it impossible to set the bomb and protect it.

As a result, Cobblestone was taken out of the majors as well, since the balance of power was disrupted and the map was no longer used in matches.

Important Callouts for Cobblestone

cobblestone callouts

As with Dust 2 Callouts, each location has its own designation for in-game communication. If you want to quickly inform your team about a point on the map, you should learn at least the main locations. Here are all the important callouts for Cobblestone:

  • T Spawn — a remote area of the map where Terrorists come up;
  • A Site — a bomb can be installed at this point. A Site is located near the T Spawn;
  • B Site — a distant point from the Terrorists and special forces spawns to set the bomb;
  • Connector — the middle of the distance between points A, CT Spawn, and B Site, it leads to the ventilation room and doors of A. An indicator: a window with flowers;
  • Drop — technically, this is the transition room from Room B, but as a callout, it marks the location with the stairs and the platform in front of the room itself;
  • Window — the exit above the flowerbed, a small window that leads to the Drop from the Connector;
  • Balcony is a common position for the CT team to move out of B Zone for battles. From the Balcony you have a good view of the staging area and the stables;
  • CT Spawn — the area where Terrorists appear located next to the A inserting point;
  • CT Ramp — a grassy ramp on the SWAT side that connects Mid and Point A;
  • Upper Halls — the Terrorists’ transition area with access to three points: Spawn T, Hall B, and the toilets;
  • Lower Halls — the part of B Halls, close to Drop and B Long. This is the Special Forces side, and the Terrorists can move from T Spawn through it;
  • Electric — the main feature of the room is an electric panel on the wall. It is on the way during the transition from Drop to B Site;
  • B Short — a small passageway connecting the Electric and B Site, to be exact, between Boost and the B Long wall, it reaches the Broken Wall;
  • B Long is a large Terrorist passageway to the B Area through a covered tunnel. It connects the lower halls to the B Platform;
  • B Platform — a rounded platform opposite the Chicken, which Terrorists reach after passing B Long. You can see most of the B Platform from it;
  • Boost — a flowerbed elevated above the rest of the location, from where you can see three doors: Electric, B Long, and B Doors. To get to the flowerbed, players must jump on top of each other;
  • Fountain — The center of Site B, where a bomb can be placed;
  • Catwalk — the catwalk leads to the entrance arch A Long of the T Ramp;
  • Dragon Lore — or Patio or DLore. A courtyard placed between T Mid and the lower tunnels;
  • Sky — the room is accessed from a raised platform by a ladder. It connects the Lower Tunnels and the Drop, and then leads to the Electric;
  • Mid Platform — the platform connects to the Dragon Lore room, and opens the view to the T Ramp;
  • Vent Room — near A Site and the truck, it has a small vent hatch, which can be broken and provide an exit to the Balcony or Connector;
  • Stables — an area that is great for ambushing and waiting for the enemy coming out of the Connector or CT Ramp, as it is separated by a wooden wall from A Long;
  • Rock — this rock is partly used by players to hold the enemy or defend area B. It is located opposite B Doors, right at the exit from Electric;
  • Chicken — the Chicken House located behind Point B is a great location to defend the B Site. It can be walled in but it doesn’t make it worse from a strategic point of view;
  • Ninja (B) — the far right corner of B Zone, which can be used to make a waiting place for the enemy;
  • B Doors — located between B Zone and Connector;
  • Mid — a large room that connects CT Ramp, Danger, and T Ramp;
  • A Long — emergency passageway for Terrorists to A Site if Mid cannot be used;
  • T Ramp — the closest point to the Terrorists’ spawn, from where they can go to Area A and Area B;
  • Snake — the room is recognizable by the barred window on the stairs, and has a serpentine shape. You can get from the room to D Lore, Upper Halls, and then reach B Zone;
  • Statue — a stone statue that Terrorists pass by as they move from their spawn to the T Ramp;
  • Cubby — an inconspicuous recess in the wall where you can wait for the enemy. It is located near the entrance between A Long and A Site;
  • Broken Wall — a broken wall at the end of B Long just after the covered tunnel, which you can jump over to reach B Site.

Each Cobblestone callout must be known and used unmistakably in chat as a message. There are also callouts such as Toilets, Cars, and others that are decorative elements of the map.
